Can it be that today begins the official last week of summer?? I don't know about all of you, but for me this summer was full of unexpected happenings .... knee surgery for my husband, a broken toe for me ... a fabulous new puppy for both of us, and for all of you who visit the shop .... Nikki is our new "greeter".

So, we are gathering all our new goodies and all our holiday cards and invitations to get ready for the onslaught! Those of you who wait and wait and procrastinate, know that we will still get it done for you!!

This week everyone seems to be in a delightfully happy mood ... so glad to see all the old familiar faces back in town again.

It's as hot and humid here as it is at home .... but the food, oohhh the food. Have managed to have cold lobster salad every day so far ... last night's dinner at Park Avenue Summer was lovely.... halibut with poached egg on top, bitter chocolate sorbet for dessert.... husband had a summer picnic dinner: fried clams (anyone remember Howard Johnsons?), barbeque ribs and cole slaw! The city is so nice during the summer .... no one here but us tourists... of course that also means no interesting sightings. Off to work, early this Sunday morning, to try and find some new, attractive, reasonable gifts for everyone....

For those of you who have missed their "Fluffy" fix for the past 2 years, we'd like to introduce you to Nikki. She's an adorable, 3 lb. Shih Tzu puppy who flew home from New Jersey two weeks ago. She will be at the shop most days (unless she's out running errands), so please stop by to say hello.... she's sure to make you smile....
